Political Accusations in Kannauj

In Kannauj district, Uttar Pradesh, a leader from the Samajwadi Party (SP) has made serious allegations against the state's Minister of Social Welfare and local MLA, Aseem Arun. On Wednesday, she claimed that the minister's camp office manager is registered to vote in two different locations.

Shashima Singh, the SP leader, criticized Minister Aseem Arun, asserting that while he accuses the SP of orchestrating fake voter registrations, the owner of the property where Arun resides also has votes in both Haudapurwa and Mirgawa villages.

Singh further alleged that as the in-charge of this polling booth, she submitted a petition to investigate the fraudulent voter registrations, but the administration has failed to take any action. This, she claims, indicates that the administration is complicit in the vote theft under pressure.

She accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of creating fake voter ID cards to facilitate vote theft, asserting that the party has registered individuals who do not even reside in Kannauj.

Singh warned that she would soon disclose the names of these fraudulent voters around the minister's office and intends to submit an affidavit to the Election Commission shortly.

Two days prior, Minister Aseem Arun released a video alleging that former SP block chief Nawab Singh Yadav and his brother Neelu Yadav are also registered to vote in multiple locations. On Tuesday, the district president of the BJP in Kannauj, Veer Singh Bhadauria, presented an affidavit regarding this matter to the Additional Magistrate.
